Simple Circle in a Granny Square
Hey lovelies,
I have been working on this simple circle granny square and thought it might be nice to share the pattern.
Abbreviations
Slst -slip stitch
Sc- single crochet
Hdc- half double crochet
Dc- double crochet
Ch- Chain
Pattern in US terms:
Start with a magic ring or chain 3 and slst into the 3rd chain from the hook
R1- ch 3 and 11 dc in ring, sl st in top of ch 3 to end round (12 dc)
R2- ch 3, dc in same st, then 2dc in each st (sl st in top of ch 3 to end round) (24 dc)
R3- ch 3, dc in same sp, dc, *2dc in next st, dc*, repeat from * to * slst in top of ch 3 to end round(36dc)
R4- ch 3, dc in same sp, dc, dc, *2dc, dc, dc* repeat from * to * until you reach the chain 3, slst at top of ch 3 to end round (48dc)
*End of circle, colour change optional*
R5- ch 3, dc ch2 2dc in same space, *dc,dc, hdc, hdc, sc, sc, sc, hdc, hdc, dc,dc, 2dc ch2 2dc* repeat from * to * omitting final 2dc ch2 2dc, slst to ch 3 to end round (32dc,16hdc,12sc, 4chsp)
R6- sl st into corner space, ch3 dc ch2 2dc in space, then dc in each st around and 2dc ch2 2dc in the 3 remaining corners, slst to ch 3 to end round (76dc, 4chsp)
R7- repeat R6 (92dc, 4chsp)
R8- sc in each st and 3sc in corners (104sc)
